Principal: Sales and Marketing
Merle Glasgow has over 25 years of executive management, sales, marketing, and business development experience providing technology and service-based solutions. The majority of his career has been focused on the healthcare industry with an emphasis on revenue cycle management, electronic data exchange and automated hospital workflow process applications. When working with Wheelhouse portfolio or client companies, Merle typically assumes the role of Chief Sales Officer or EVP of Business Development where he is in a position to assess and enhance all business development-related activity, including direct sales, indirect sales and other channel partner and strategic relationships.
Previously Merle served as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for ARx, a Nashville area-based healthcare company that provides revenue cycle management services to hospitals across the country. At ARx, Merle’s responsibilities not only included revenue growth within the company’s existing services lines, but also growth through the creation, launch and implementation of new lines of business, national accounts management and strategic partner development.
Prior to ARx, Merle spent over six years consulting with and/or working for several private equity-backed emerging Nashville area healthcare-related technology and service companies in leadership roles to assist with initiatives that included company formation, product/ operations launch, business development, sales, marketing, investor relations and organizational growth.
Earlier in his career Merle spent over seven-years with one of the world’s leading semiconductor distributors, Montreal-based Future Electronics Corporation, as General Manager of the San Jose-based Northern California division. At the time, the Northern California division was the company’s largest. Under Merle’s leadership the division grew in five years from $15 million to over $45 million in annual revenue. He went on to serve as the Regional e-Commerce Director for the company’s southeastern U.S. region where he was responsible for assisting in the development and market launch of FIRST (Future’s Inventory Replenishment System Technology), a web-based program that accelerated hi-tech manufacturing organizations’ efforts to implement JIT, World Class Manufacturing and KANBAN programs.
Before Future Electronics, Merle worked eight years for Dictaphone Corporation (a Pitney Bowes subsidiary company) where he served in a number of leadership roles including Western Region Systems Manager (San Jose), Branch Manager (San Jose), National Sales Trainer (Pitney Bowes/ Dictaphone Corporation’s Atlanta area global training center). During his time at the global training center Merle was an integral part of several corporate-based and company-wide marketing initiatives that included: new product launches (CONNEXIONS, Digital Express); the creation, production and launch of a new video sales training program (EXCEL); and multiple marketing campaigns that required re-branding, collateral development and other market penetration objectives.
